Matt. 6:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven

  1. What is the Kingdom of God?
    1. Jesus Taught about the Kingdom of God often…

 

  1. King + People + Place = Kingdom
    1. God’s reign, rule and authority providing provision and care for his people
    2. People submit to God, worship, praise and obey.
    3. Characteristics of the kingdom of God
      1. Truth revealed, Gospel preached, Healing, Driving out darkness and demons, Lowly exalted, Forgiveness, Grace, Mercy, Love.

 

  1. Praying for the Final Physical Kingdom to come.
    1. Second Coming of Jesus (Come Lord Jesus, Come.)
      1. Eternal Kingdom: New Heaven and New Earth (Rev. 21)

 

  1. Praying for the Spiritual Kingdom to come.
    1. God taking residence in the hearts of his people.
      1. Jesus is Lord and Savior (Submitting to his reign and rule)
        1. Personal transformation: Fruit of the gospel is transformation of all areas of life.

 

  1. Praying for the Expansion of God’s Kingdom
    1. All disciples are filled with the Holy Spirit and commissioned.
      1. (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8)
    2. Personal Transformation precedes corporate/societal transformation.
    3. The Local Church is the hope of the world.
      1. When God’s kingdom expands the world begins to change.
        1. Examples in History: Hospitals, schools, Laws reformed, Humanitarian Aid as an outpouring of God’s Kingdom advancement.
    4. Characteristic of the Kingdom of God
      1. Truth revealed, Gospel preached, Healing, Driving out darkness and demons, Lowly exalted, Forgiveness, Grace, Mercy, Love
      2. Faith without works is dead, but the fruit of the gospel is transformed lives.
