Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Cori Klarenbeek (recovering from carpal tunnel surgery), Stacy Dieren (recovering from colon surgery), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s Disease), Missy (Michelle) Perkins (currently a resident at the Rock Rapids Health Center), Caden Wright (pray for healing and for Caden to regain his strength following his hospital stay), Mykenah Horstman (pray for the plans to get Mykenah fitted for a brace that she can wear at night), Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to be effective), Greyson Austin, Marlene Mellema’s grandson/Meredith & Joe Vander Zee’s nephew (pray for continued improvement with eating and energy as well as healing of the j-pouch), Zucker Freerks, Sara and Justin Groen’s nephew (pray for Zucker to maintain good health during the spring months), Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (diagnosed with paracardial effusion; has been able to return to work but has physical limitations), Jeremy Hespen, Merlin & Jackie Groen’s nephew (recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma), Danny Bolerjack, Danielle Bouwman’s father (recovering from a stroke), Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD), and Gayle Wagenaar, Conrad and Audrey De Noble’s brother-in-law (diagnosed with acute leukemia).

Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Gail Hartter (Eric Hartter’s mother), Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel’s son), Arlene Sterler (Robbie Korthals’ mother), and Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt).

Congratulations! to Sarah and Blair Wilson on the birth of their daughter, Cora Lyn, on March 15. We rejoice with you on this special blessing in the life of your family!

Sympathy: We wish to extend our sympathy to Vi and Loren Dengler upon the death of Vi’s sister, Henrietta Van Roekel, on March 16. Henrietta’s funeral was held last Wednesday, March 20, at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

GriefShare: Our next GriefShare class will be held on Monday, March 25, 6:45-8:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our topic for this session will be “The Journey of Grief – Part 2”. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, GriefShare will give you support, understanding, and tools to help with your grief. Please feel free to come!

Mid-Week Meal: Join us this Wednesday, March 27th for our next Midweek Meal. On the menu: Tator Tot Casserole, Dinner Roll, Fruit Cocktail Jello. All are invited to attend. Serving begins at 5:45 PM. See you there!

Change: Adult Choir will be singing next Sunday, March 31.

Next Sunday Night! The Council of Churches Fifth Sunday service will be held at First Reformed Church, March 31 at 6:30 PM. Dr. Dave and Heather Springer will be giving a presentation regarding mission and culture. Thank you to Roger Oliver for putting posters up for us advertising this event.

Looking Ahead: Consistory will be meeting on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

NISO: The Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Spring Concert, The Organ: King of Instruments, on Tuesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. Guest artist on the organ for the evening is MaryLou Wielenga. As in the past, this Spring Concert will also feature the announcement of the 2019-2020 Season of the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra. Season tickets for next year will be offered that evening for a special discounted price. Advance tickets are available at Evie’s Hallmark in Sioux Center. Hope Haven, Inc. will host their Annual Benefit Auction on Friday evening, April 5 at Te Slaa Trucking (corner of Hwys 75 & 18). Help support the local and global ministries of Hope Haven through this exciting evening of fun and fellowship. The evening’s schedule is: doors open at 4:30 pm; food booth and buy-it-now table opens at 5:00 pm; live auction begins at 5:30 pm. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. Advance tickets are available at Evie’s Hallmark in Sioux Center.
