Welcome: First Reformed Church would like to welcome Christina Vonk. She has transferred her membership from Heritage Reformed Church of Hull, IA.

 Church in the park: Please consider joining us at Westside Park next Sunday the 29th of August, at 10:30 am for our church in the park service featuring Rods & Rides. A breakfast will be served at 9:30am. 

Job Opening: We are looking to fill our custodian/ maintenance position. It is a part time position, hours up to 25 per week. Inquiries about the position or to send your resume, please email or call the church office: frchurch@premieronline.net or 712-472-3729.

Coming Soon: Bible League’s Spreading the Fragrance of life dinner is Monday evening, September 20. The daylong conference is Tuesday, September 21. Both events will be held at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Register online at bibleleague.org/tickets. Cost $20 for dinner; $40 for conference. 

 Join Praise Team and Tech Crew: We are welcoming new members!  Instrumentalists, vocalists, sound crew, livestream, and presentation volunteers needed!  Not sure?  Join us for one rehearsal (8/25, 7:00pm) and one Sunday morning (8/29) without committing to a team yet!  Informational meeting for all Wednesday, September 1, 7:00 pm. Join us as we hear messages from Sally Burke (Moms in Prayer International President) and Cathi Armitage (MIP Global Ministry Director), among others.   -Mark your calendars for August 29! We have reserved the Rock Rapids Swimming Pool for a night of fellowship and fun. EVERYONE is welcome to attend! We will also kick off registration for our fall programs. There is no cost to attend. See you there!

~It’s Operation Christmas Child time once again…and Back-to-School Sales are in full swing! It’s a great time to stock up on items for our OCC Packing Party on November 10th.  Please visit the information table in the gathering space where you will find a supply sign-up. Items are requested to be at church no later than Sunday, October 31st. Please also prayerfully consider packing a shoebox (or two!) on your own. Shoeboxes are available for you to use. Thank you for your support!

ATTENTION: Welcome Back Grace Circle members! Also, welcome to anyone who might have an interest in an awesome circle. Save the date!  Night of Renewal is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 7pm in the First Reformed Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome to join us for snacks and fellowship as we hear testimonies from Missy Bass and Heather Erickson, both of Hills, MN.  These mothers are a part of Game Plan 4 Hope, which was started in Sept. 2019.  It rose out of the hearts of two families who have been through life-altering experiences and felt the need to help others that are going through similar situations. Please join us in hearing their personal stories and the mission of Game Plan 4 Hope.

 

ADVANCE NOTICE: Our church is collecting Christian Literature for use in spreading God’s word throughout the world. A list of acceptable and unacceptable material is also included in the August “Bridge” to be sure your donation can be used. The donation list is also posted above the collection boxes which will be under the south coat rack from August 1- August 23. Thank you for sharing your gently used Christian material.

         JUSTICE FOR ALL is very excited to announce dates for upcoming Service and Learning Trips!  Please prayerfully consider joining us on one of these trips.  The trips are designed to be an opportunity to use our hands and feet to bless others through work projects, but also to learn and experience a different culture than our own and see what God is doing through the incredible ministry partners serving in these communities.  The sites/dates are:  JMVM Perkins Foundation, Jackson MS – Sep 11-17; Voice of Calvary Ministries, Jackson MS – Sep 18-24; Grace Reigns, Hildale UT – Oct 1-8; Harvest Hands Ministries, Juarez MX – Oct 16-22.   If you would like to sign up or want more information on any of these opportunities, please contact Nick Leloux at JFA (712-476-2804,  nickl@jfa-nwiowa.org.)
