Intro: Augustine’s City of God
We belong to either the Kingdom of the World or Kingdom of Heaven
- Rev. 18 Pulls back the Curtain
- Kingdom of the World
- Dwelling place of demons
- Haunted by every impure spirit
- Greed, Violence, Sexual Immorality, Wickedness
- Warning to Christians
- Do not share in the world’s sins.
- How do we get the world out of the Christian?
- Judgement is coming
- Judgement Day
- Kingdom of the World will receive double portion of punishment.
- Will happen in One Day. (Sudden without time for repentance)
Matt. 7:13-14 Wide and Narrow Road
- Wide Road
- Many Enter
- Seduced by the World: Money, Pleasure, Pride, Power, Vanity
- Many will experience temporary pleasure, success, happiness, riches.
- Leads to Destruction
- On Judgement Day all temporary things will be wiped away
- Regret will set in but will be too late. (Vs 9-15)
- Vs. 21-24 (Final Judgment)
- No music, no light, no trade, no church
- Narrow Road
- Few will Enter
- John 14:6
- Jesus takes the punishment for our sins.
- God’s People will not Experience the same Judgement
Do you love God or do you love the World?
