Announcements for 11-20-22
THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Operation Christmas Child, whether by packing boxes, bringing supplies for our packing party, helping at the party, and much more! As a church, we packed 141 shoebox gifts. Each of those represent a child who will soon have the joy in opening a gift, knowing someone has prayed for them. And best of all – they will each hear the Gospel message, many for the first time. Please continue to pray for these children, that their hearts will be ready to receive the message and that they will decide to take part in The Greatest Journey, a 12-week discipleship program where they will learn how to spread the Gospel throughout their communities. Also, as a drop-off location, we received 857 shoebox gifts that were delivered to the Sioux Falls Collection Center on Monday. They have now made their way to Denver, where they will be processed and readied for their journey to their final destination. Thank you!
**First Reformed Church will have a Christmas float in the Rock Rapids Parade of Lights again this year. It is Thursday December 1 at 6:30 pm. If you would like to ride the float please meet us at the Methodist Church for lineup by 6:15 pm. Contact Jen Kock at 605-321-1084 with any questions.
**Christmas Eve Special Music: We would love to have your gift of music in the Christmas Eve program! Please sign up at the Welcome Center or contact Valerie Lenderink, frcmusic@premieronline.net, 314-637-8383
With winter quickly approaching we have a few reminders as far as cancelling worship. We will make announcements via Flocknote, Prayer Chain, Social-Media and the following radio stations KIWA Sheldon and K101/KQAD. The same rules apply to our Wednesday night activities. (If Central Lyon and or West Lyon schools release early or cancel, we will NOT have activities that day, so please plan accordingly) Thanks for your understanding. First Reformed Church.
Christmas Caroling – December 11
Giving only 2-3 hours of your time can have a lasting impact on somebody! We will be Christmas caroling on Sunday December 11. Would you please consider joining a group and go caroling? It is a fun couple of hours! We welcome singers and families of all ages (children to adults). If you are interested, please sign up in the gathering area or contact Kayla Van Wyhe or Sharon Postma.

**The Siebring Project to send a container of warm clothes, blankets, food, etc. to the Ukraine still needs more items to fill the container and really needs people to give money toward shipping this container to the Ukraine. Items for the container can be dropped off at Justice For All in Rock Valley. Money toward shipping the container: checks should be made to “Aid for Ukraine” and sent to Security Savings Bank, P.O. Box 128, George, Iowa 51237. Thank you so much to those of you who have already given. Please continue to pray for this project and the Ukraine. Any questions call Carol Groen at 605-940-7237. We can accept items until Thanksgiving and money for shipping can be sent at least till December 15.
