•Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s disease)

•Tanner Lincecum (pray for relief from headaches and for Tanner’s doctors to have wisdom in caring for him)

•Bonita Schwan, Norma Jansma’s daughter (serious health conditions and side effects from previous cancer surgeries)

•Lambert Van Olst (currently faced with several health concerns)

•Andrew Perry, Anita & Curt Dieren’s brother-in-law (continue to pray for the remaining blood clots to dissolve)

•Karen De Noble, David De Noble’s mother (has been diagnosed with cancer; please pray for comfort as Karen goes through chemotherapy treatments)

•Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (continues to experience some improvement; is now working on another round of physical therapy goals)

•Danny Bolerjack, Danielle Bouwman’s father (recovering from a stroke)

•Zucker Freerks, Sara & Justin Groen’s nephew (pray for Zucker to maintain good health during the summer months)

•Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD).

•Phyllis Te Slaa (recovering from knee replacement surgery; currently at the Rock Rapids Health Center)

•Missy Perkins (recovering from recent surgery at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls)

•Greyson Austin (has started Humira injections every 2 weeks; pray for Greyson’s internal healing)

•Denise Roskam (recently diagnosed with cancer; pray that Denise’s cancer treatments will go well and be effective)

Jess Nichols, Angie Jager’s father, recently had surgery to remove his prostate.Jess’s surgery was successful in removing the cancer, and no further treatment is needed.

Registration Forms for Fall Programming - Planning is underway for our fall programs! If you have a child 6th grade and under, please pick up a registration form (one per child) on the table in the gathering space or from the church office and return it to Amy Schulte’s mailbox. You can also find a printable registration form on our website. We are still looking for a few volunteers, particularly small group leaders for Wednesday nights. If you are interested, please contact Cheryl or Amy. Thanks!

Church Directory:It’s time to update our church photo directory!Our last photo directory was printed in 2015. We have new families, there have been weddings, babies, and kids who are young adults now. We’re changing and a new photo directory will help us capture these changes.Every family photographed receives a complimentary printed directory, access to our mobile directory and an 8x10 portrait. Photography dates are Oct 9-11 (Wed-Fri) 2-9 pm; Oct 12 (Sat) 10am – 5pm.The photography and portrait viewing will take place at our church with no sitting fee.You will have an opportunity to purchase additional portraits on the day of your portrait session. You should receive your pictures around the beginning of December.Your photography session will take about an hour, during which time you will check-in, be photographed and view your portraits. Our directory will not be complete without you!You can sign up for photography online at our church website at www.rockrapidsfrc.org or call our office at 712-472-3729.Sign up today!

Faithwalking:Church members and leaders spend so much time caring for others that we don’t always take care of ourselves. We don't schedule time to engage our own growth and transformation. When was the last time you truly invested in your own transformation, healing, and wholeness?I’d like to invite you to join me, and others from the area in a spiritual formation journey. The material is called Faithwalking. You can check it out at https://www.faithwalking.us/ One pastor who recently completed Module 1 recently said, Faithwalking Foundations was the “best investment I made this year in my own spiritual life.”Faithwalking Foundations is not just for pastors.People from all walks of life have participated.One person said this of their experience, “Faithwalking gave me the chance to reflect on my life in ways I never had before.I now have tools that will impact my life, my work, and my engagement in my church.”Sessions are conducted via the internet on Zoom calls. The next Module 1 will begin on August 28 and last 10 weeks and the enrollment cost is $175. Women’s Night of Renewal will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.There will be a speaker from the Cornerstone Prison.Root Beer Floats will be served.A freewill offering will be taken.

Adult Small Group Study:Please join us for a new bible study being offered this fall.We will be going through “Why I Believe,” by Chip Ingram.This is an apologetic series that looks at our faith’s big questions.What happens when we die?Can miracles be explained?Is there really a God? Ingram shares answers systematically and with logical research.Please join us as we look into this eight week study.Our group will meet after worship service during Sunday school in room 200, starting September 29th.If you are interested please contact Joe Vander Zee (712.400.9558).There is a study guide to purchase for $7.Joe will arrange a purchase of these guides, so please contact him if you are interested.

Auditions for membership in the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra (NISO) will be held on Friday, September 6 (Winds & Percussion) and Saturday, September 9 (Strings). Anyone wishing to play in the orchestra for the first time must audition, and all student members need to re-audition each year. The women of Sioux Falls First will be hosting the 2019 “Enough Women’s Conference”.The theme this year is “Created with a Purpose”.The Conference will be held September 20-21 at Sioux Falls First.The main session speaker will be New York Times best-selling author, Karen Ehman.The second session speaker is Twyla

Our Operation Christmas Child supply drive is underway! Though our packing party isn’t until November, now is a great time to gather supplies with the Back to School sales.
