•Carter Krull (pray for recovery following surgery on June 5 to repair Carter’s broken arm)

•Mykenah Horstman (pray for the plans to get Mykenah fitted for a brace that she can wear at night)

•Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s disease)

•Tanner Lincecum (pray for relief from headaches and for Tanner’s doctors to have wisdom in caring for him)

•Bonita Schwan, Norma Jansma’s daughter (serious health conditions and side effects from previous cancer surgeries)

•Karen Reemts (recovering at home from knee surgery)

•Andrew Perry, Anita & Curt Dieren’s brother-in-law (pray for Andrew’s blood clots to dissolve),

  • Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (continues to experience some improvement; is now working on another round of physical therapy goals)

•Danny Bolerjack, Danielle Bouwman’s father (recovering from a stroke)

•Lena Jolee Olivier, Marilyn & Bill Mammenga’s infant granddaughter (see prayer update below)

•Zucker Freerks, Sara & Justin Groen’s nephew (pray for Zucker to maintain good health during the summer months)

•Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD).

Prayer Updates:Lena Jolee Olivier has been discharged from the hospital and is doing well at home.Greyson Austin:We so appreciate your continued prayers for Greyson.He began Humira injections this past week, as he is now being treated for Crohns as well as colitis.Remicade infusions were not successful, so we pray that Humira will work.Grey is home for now and remains in good spirits.We serve an amazing God, who is our Great Physician!So this is where we continue to put our trust.

Congratulations! to Eric and Amy Hartter on the birth of their son, Holden Grae, on July 8.We rejoice with you on this special blessing in the life of your family.

Sympathy:We wish to extend our sympathy to Heath and Wendy Huisman and their family on the death of Heath’s uncle, Ron Gruis, on July 10.

Thank you to our caring church family for remembering us with prayers, cards and words of encouragement at this very difficult time.Special thanks to Jenn Kock, our care elder, and Pastor Dan for their concern.We will certainly miss Ed, but rejoice that he is in heaven and can breathe! ~ Conrad, Audrey De Noble & family

Congratulations to Koriene (Schulte) and Johnathon Gallegher on their wedding yesterday at First Reformed.

A "Journey" discipleship and leadership group is in the process of being formed to start this fall. "The Journey” involves meeting weekly (with exceptions) with a group of other adults who engage in a relational learning process of Christian discipleship and leadership. The group is guided by three primary questions: “Who is God?” “Who am I?”“What does God desire to do through me?” Overall the process lasts 18 weeks and we make several meals together! An informational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 14 at 7:00 PM in the Youth Room. The meeting will last one hour and you are under no obligation to apply by attending.

The Lyon County Fair Association is sponsoring a gospel ministry to open the 2019 fair.This will be Sunday July 21, 2019 at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, 512 South Union Street at 2:30 pm.An ice cream social will follow the program.Performing this year will be Master’s Voice Quartet.A free-will offering will be taken.The money is given to the performers and the church for letting us use their facility.Thank you.

The Bible League Christmas in July will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Faith Reformed churchof Rock Valley, Iowa You are asked to bring an item such as baked goods, crafts, plants, etc.,to place on the silent auction tables. You will be given time to view the items and place your bids.Sheri Ten Napel and Katie Haan will share what they experience in their trip with Bible League International to Nicaragua.Hope to see many of you at this event.

Special Music:On August 11th, the men’s chorus will be singing “Midnight Cry” as special music during our Sunday service.All men including high schoolers and college students are invited to take part.We will be rehearsing in the choir room on July 21st and August 4th immediately following church services, and also on August 11th, before worship at 9:10 am.We are very short on copies and this piece is now out of print, meaning that we cannot buy additional copies.If you have a copy at home, please return it to church and put it on the table in the choir room.
