Announcements for 12-3-23 

 

We are so thankful! Our Community Thanksgiving Meal continues to serve, year 21 of hosting this meal was amazing. This year approximately 208 meals were served. This includes dine-in, pick up and delivery.  Thank you to the many hands and hearts that made this ministry possible.  Donations, volunteers and guests made Thanksgiving Day a blessing.  A special thank you to Amy Hartter for leading so well.  

2024 Birthday and Anniversary calendars will be ready this week. If you would like one, they are available for $5 in the church office. 

A group of kids singing christmas carolsDescription automatically generatedChristmas Caroling – We will be caroling December 10 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. All ages are welcome to participate. There will be a time of fellowship with others afterwards while we enjoy sandwiches and goodies. If you would like to join the caroling fun or provide some goodies, please contact Sharon Postma 712-470-0533.

 

~Community Christmas Choir: Join the community Christmas choir!  We will sing For Unto Us A Child is Born from Handel's Messiah at the Christmas Eve Service (12/24, 5:30pm).  We will practice every Saturday in December 9:00-10:00 am.  All ages and denominations welcome!  If you can't make at least three rehearsals, contact Valerie for rehearsal resources.  Contact Valerie to sign up: 314-637-8383, frcmusic@premieronline.net.

 

~RESGEN Men's Summit 2024 is a half-day conference with the mission of encouraging men, ages 17 and up, to grow and fulfill their purpose as leaders, husbands, fathers, and Christ-followers. The theme for this year's event is 'Being a Man of Courage' and features five dynamic sessions, comedy, free resources, and snacks throughout the day.

Cost is $35. Saturday, February 3 from 8 AM-1:30PM at Central Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Register online at resgen.org or sign up at the welcome center. Contact Rob Van Hofwegen for more details.     

   

~Justice For All is planning a MISSISSIPPI BUS TOUR, highlighting our ministry partners:  John & Vera Mae Perkins Foundation and Voice of Calvary Ministries of Jackson, MS and Mississippi Christian Family Services of Rolling Fork, MS.  The dates are April 3-10, 2024.  Join us, learn, and see how God is using beautiful ministries to share HIS love and hope to those who live in communities of needs in MS.  We’ll also explore the rich history, culture and stories of slavery, Jim Crow, and Civil Rights.  A day in Branson on the way home will round out a great trip!  If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pat Vander Pol at JFA (patvp@jfa-nwiowa.org – 712-476-2804).
