Announcements for 3-26-23
~This morning, our 3&4 year olds and Preschool Classes will be presenting their memory work. Next week, our Kindergarten Class will recite their memory work, The Lord’s Prayer. Parents: please have your children to their classroom by 9:15 AM. When they are finished, the children will join their families for the remainder of worship. Thank you!
We are hiring! Gary and Karen are retiring. Cheryl is changing job roles to Adult Discipleship Director. We are looking for a church custodian and a youth director. If you would like more information on either of these positions, please contact Jammie at the Church office or Cheryl Van Beek. If you are interested in applying, please submit the application form available at the church office along with your resume and a cover letter.
On April 2nd our Women’s Ministry will be hosting a breakfast from 8-9:15am in the fellowship hall. The menu is breakfast pizza and fruit. So please consider joining us before worship. And stay for worship as the Adult choir conducts our Easter Cantata.
~Cantata Practice: The adult choir will be practicing in the sanctuary today following worship and also Saturday, April 1st @ 9am.
We will be having Good Friday worship this year and NOT Maundy Thursday worship. The service will be on April 7th at 6:30pm. Communion will be served.
~Adult Discipleship Opportunities:
Adult Sunday School: join us for The Chosen, season 1, March 2-April 30. We will watch and discuss. We will watch it together on Thursdays at 9:30 am starting March 2nd in the sanctuary. If that doesn't work for you, please watch it on your own time! After church on Sundays, we will discuss each episode. Make sure to bring your bible! Nursery will be available on Sundays. To watch it yourself simply download The Chosen app on your smart phone or smart TV for free!
~We are planning a Membership Retreat. Date and Time TBD. If you are interested in learning more about membership or joining our church by Profession of Faith, please talk with Pastor Steve, Cheryl Van Beek or one of the Elders; John Metzger, Dan Kruse, Chris Wright, Sharon Postma, Nate Schulte, Shari Kastein.
~Seder Meal Presentation: The Seder Meal is a tradition celebrated by people of the Jewish faith during Passover. The meal consists of rituals, liturgy and food meant to represent parts of the Exodus story where the people of Israel were led from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the Promised Land. The Seder Meal presentation (Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00pm) will be a Jewish missionary coming to our church to explain to us the traditions and meaning of the Seder meal. No, we will not be partaking in a meal together. Please join us as we learn about these historic and current traditions!
Our church has collected Christian Literature for many years. Last fall the International Christian Literature Distributors (ICLD) in Minneapolis announced that they would no longer be able to accept our donations. The ICLD is run by volunteers who collect, sort, and ship these materials all over the globe. We are pleased to tell you that we are again able to collect Christian Literature for the ICLD. A box is under the south coat rack for your donations. The list of acceptable items is much shorter than in the past years. Also consider the condition of the book - not written on, highlighted, torn etc.
Acceptable Items ICLD Will Not Accept
Bibles Sunday School Materials
Bible Helps Novels
Devotional Books Tapes
Books on Prayer CD’s
Books on Evangelism DVD’s
If you have a college student that you would like to receive a care package from FRC, please sign up in the gathering space or email Cheryl Van Beek. (frccheryl@premieronline.net) Deadline to sign up is April 4.
