Announcements for 3-12-23     

We are hiring!  Gary and Karen are retiring. Cheryl is changing job roles to Adult Discipleship Director. We are looking for a church custodian and a youth director.  If you would like more information on either of these positions, please contact Jammie at the Church office or Cheryl Van Beek.   If you are interested in applying, please submit the application form available at the church office along with your resume and a cover letter.  

 *On April 2nd our Women’s Ministry will be hosting a breakfast from 8-9:15am in the fellowship hall. The menu is breakfast pizza and fruit. So please consider joining us before worship. 

*We will be having Good Friday worship this year and NOT Maundy Thursday worship. The service will be on April 7th at 6:30pm. Communion will be served.

Adult Discipleship Opportunities:

Adult Sunday School: join us for the spring Adult Sunday school, March 2-April 30.  We will watch and discuss The Chosen, season 1, the first-ever multi-series TV show of the life of Christ.  We will watch it together on Thursdays at 9:30 am starting March 2nd in the sanctuary.  If that doesn't work for you, please watch it on your own time!  After church on Sundays, we will discuss each episode.  Make sure to bring your bible! Nursery will be available on Sundays.  To watch it yourself simply download The Chosen app on your smart phone or smart TV for free!

Parenting Class: “Equipping our Children for Battle”; Protect their Minds, Bodies, and Hearts.  Will be held on Wednesdays after the family meal on March 15, 22 and 29. 530-630pm.   Nursery is available.  Please sign up in the Gathering Space.

We are planning a Membership Retreat.  Date and Time TBD.    If you are interested in learning more about membership or joining our church by Profession of Faith, please talk with Pastor Steve, Cheryl Van Beek or one of the Elders; John Metzger, Dan Kruse, Chris Wright, Sharon Postma, Nate Schulte, Shari Kastein.

*Our church has collected Christian Literature for many years.  Last fall the International Christian Literature Distributors (ICLD) in Minneapolis announced that they would no longer be able to accept our donations.  The ICLD is run by volunteers who collect, sort, and ship these materials all over the globe.  We are pleased to tell you that we are again able to collect Christian Literature for the ICLD.  A box is under the south coat rack for your donations.  The list of acceptable items is much shorter than in the past years.   Also consider the condition of the book - not written on, highlighted, torn etc.

What is Rocky Mountain High?

Rocky Mountain High is a Youth Retreat for 9-12th students that is hosted by the Synod of the Heartland.

This event is held every 3 years in Estes Park, Colorado.  This year the dates are July 22-26 (we realize this is part of “dead-week”, we would love to work around your family’s vacation plans as needed).  We highly encourage all high school students to attend! Please see the registration information below for more details.  The out- of- pocket cost per student is $200 (there are scholarships available).  We will fundraise the remaining cost.  Please contact Cheryl Van Beek if you have any questions.
