Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Dawn Vanden Top (recovering from her recent surgery), Bob Reemts (recovering from a bowel blockage), Arietta Beyenhof (recovering from hip replacement surgery), John Van Aartsen (recovering from a recent heart procedure), Sue Faber (recovering at home), Asher Menning (continue to pray about the blood clot in Asher’s right atrium), Myron Krull (recovering from knee replacement surgery), Twilla Hoekstra (recovering from surgery), Aubree Boender (pray for patience and the healing of Aubree’s broken arm), Mykenah Horstman (pray that Mykenah’s spinal cord will not re-tether), Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to be effective), Greg De Jong (recovering from bypass surgery), Donna Hulshof (transitioning to Hospice care), Russ Carver, Rachelle Johnsen’s father (recovering from surgery), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s Disease), Jack Gable, Allison Van Aartsen’s father (receiving treatment for myasthenia gravis), and Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD), Melissa Moser, Kathy Moser’s daughter-in-law (as she prepares for surgery on the 4th in Iowa City for her cancer).

Your prayers are also appreciated for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Gert Van Roekel (Laurine Gerritsen’s mother), Steve & Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel’s sons), Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt), and Gail Hartter (Eric Hartter’s mother).

Thank You: We wish to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for our dad and grandpa, Jack Gable. The Lord sustained him through the serious circumstances in intensive care at Sanford Sioux Falls. He has been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, which means his body makes too many antibodies and they attack his nerves. After plasma replacement therapy, we hope this can be managed with medication. While he has returned home (Ortonville, MN) and is doing much better, please continue to remember him in your prayers. They have been a blessing to Jack and Elaine and to us. Thanks again. -- Allison and Scott Van Aartsen and family

Hearing Devices Available: Are you having difficulty hearing the service? Our church has a hearing assistance system. If you are having difficulty hearing during the worship service and would like to try a receiver, please check at the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary or with Dave Hulstein.

REMINDER: When scheduling any meeting or event in the church, please notify the church office what rooms will be used, the time, and the date. Thank you for your help.

Welcome: We wish to welcome Calvin Ver Mulm from Rock Valley to our pulpit this morning.

Looking Ahead: Back-to-School sales are in full swing which makes it the perfect time to purchase Operation Christmas Child shoebox supplies! There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the gathering space with a list of needed items for our packing party on November 14th. A small shoebox gift can change the heart of one child and in turn an entire family or even village for Christ. One box = and eternal impact! Please consider contributing to this event. Thank you!

Justice For All: JFA will be sending a truck full of supplies to Grace Reigns our partner ministry that is located in Colorado City, Arizona. Our supplies help supply the Grace Reigns thrift store and they in turn help people in the community transition out of the FLDS community. We are looking for a few people to join us on this trip to assist with our truck and help our partners at their thrift store. The trip will take place the first week in September, most likely flying or driving out on Tuesday, September 4. Contact Luke Grooters at 712-476-2804 if you are interested.

NISO Auditions for membership in the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra will be held on Friday, September 7 (Winds & Percussion) and Saturday, September 8 (Strings). Anyone wishing to play in the orchestra for the first time must audition, and all student members need to re-audition each year. For more information or to schedule an audition, contact the NISO office at niso@dordt.edu or 712-722-6230.
