  • Andrew Perry, Anita & Curt Dieren’s brother-in-law (pray for Andrew’s blood clots to dissolve),

•Brock Klarenbeek (recovering from recent chest surgery)

•Harriet Hoff (recovering from foot surgery; currently a resident at the Rock Rapids Health Center)

•Craig Wynia (pray for recovery from hip replacement surgery on June 4)

•Carter Krull (pray for recovery following surgery on June 5 to repair Carter’s broken arm)

•Arietta Beyenhof (pray for continued healing of Arietta’s knee following surgery)

•Mykenah Horstman (pray for the plans to get Mykenah fitted for a brace that she can wear at night)

•Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s disease)

•Tanner Lincecum (pray for relief from headaches and for Tanner’s doctors to have wisdom in caring for him)

•Lena Jolee Olivier, Marilyn & Bill Mammenga’s infant granddaughter (continues at Sanford NICU in Sioux Falls; pray for continued growth and development)

•Zucker Freerks, Sara & Justin Groen’s nephew (pray for Zucker to maintain good health during the summer months)

•Greyson Austin, Marlene Mellema’s grandson/Meredith & Joe Vander Zee’s nephew (pray for decrease in prednisone & surgery possibly this fall)

•Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD).

Prayer Updates:Alice Feikema has returned to her own home.

Sympathy:We wish to extend our sympathy to Arnie and Donna Kwikkel on the death of their son Dave on Saturday, June 1.Dave’s funeral was held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, IA this past Friday, June 7.

NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 16, is the outdoor Heritage Days Worship Service held in Island Park at 10: 30 AM. Steve Van Wyhe, a son of our congregation, is the guest preacher. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy worship in the beauty of the park. First Reformed Church is the alternative site in the event of rain.

Next Sunday, June 16, First Reformed is in charge of leading the Care Center Services. We welcome volunteers to help assist the residents with their hymnbooks and our fellowship. The Health Care Center service is at 3:15 PM and Lyon Manor is at 4:00 PM.

Congratulations to Andrew Metzger and Tayler Kruse on their wedding held yesterday at FRC.

Float for Heritage Days Parade - Volunteers are Needed!

Work is under way for creating a float for the Heritage Days Parade!Our theme is from Matthew 4:19 of Jesus' words "Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men."We need a few more volunteers including: a driver; adults and children to ride the float; and adults and children walking and passing out candy.If you would like to participate, please contact Dwayne or Sharon Postma at 712-470-0533.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:Thanks so very much for participating in OCC this past fall! The count is in: 10.5 million shoeboxes were packed and sent to over 100 countries. That number represents the number of children who will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, and have opportunities to study what it means to be His disciples through The Greatest Journey lessons. Please continue to pray for these children, that they would come to know Jesus as their friend and Savior, and be equipped to boldly share His love with families, friends and communities.In Christ, Loralie Wiese, Sioux Center, OCC Church Relations

Hope Haven’s 24th Annual Gospel Music Festival will be held at Central Park in Sioux Center, IA on Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, 2019.The Gospel Music Festival will provide great continuous music from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday and from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm Saturday.Currently 20 different groups from five states are scheduled to sing!The Gospel Music Festival is a benefit for Hope Haven and freewill offerings will be taken each day.A lunch stand will be open both days.In case of inclement weather, the Music Festival will be held at the Rec Center on the Campus of Dordt College.
