•Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to work effectively)

•Bonita Schwan, Norma Jansma’s daughter (serious health conditions and side effects from previous cancer surgeries)

•Lambert Van Olst (is currently in remission with leukemia)

•Karen De Noble, David De Noble’s mother (has been diagnosed with cancer; please pray for comfort as Karen goes through chemotherapy treatments)

•Graham Johnson, great-grandson of Don & Doris Calkins (see update below)

•Carol Groen (continues to be evaluated at Mayo Clinic regarding her lower back problems)

•Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (continues to make progress in physical therapy)

•Greyson Austin (see update below)

•Denise Roskam (pray for continued healing from cancer)

•Vicky Van Houten, Judy Netten’s sister (is tolerating her chemotherapy treatments well)

•Ray Schram, Jeff Schram’s father (recently diagnosed with cancer on his leg)

•John Hulshof (was hospitalized and treated for blood clots; is now home; pray for John’s recovery)

•Lyle Kahl (recovering at home from surgery)

•Anita Dieren (recovering from a fall)

•Ruth Caswell (is currently at Lyon Specialty Care recovering from a fractured bone in her ankle)

•Jeanette Brower (hospitalized at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls for an infection)

*Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer:Melissa Moser (Kathy Moser’s daughter-in-law), Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt; continues to be treated for cancer and is experiencing a lot of fatigue), Arlene Sterler, Robbie Korthals’ mother (Arlene’s cancer has moved to her lungs; pray for Arlene’s doctors to have wisdom as they care for her), and Trish Lombard, Tara Bouwman’s mother (recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer).

Prayer Updates:Graham Johnson, great-grandson of Don and Doris Calkins, has been living at home with his parents for almost 3 months.Graham is steadily gaining weight, and he has not had a breathing episode since the beginning of December.Graham is still on supplemental oxygen, but he is gradually being weaned off, and he has been tolerating this really well.Graham is growing and developing well.Graham’s parents, Andy and Annie Johnson, have sent a message to their prayer supporters, which includes our congregation:“Thank you for the overwhelming amount of support, love, and prayers.We are more grateful than we could ever say.”

Greyson Austin continues to do well on the every other week Humira injection.We are so thankful for all of the prayers for Grey’s health that have come from Rock Rapids.What a blessing to be remembered in such a special way.The plan for Grey to have a second surgery is still a possibility, but he is just so happy that his life has returned to normal that we may wait a while before pursuing that.For now we are all enjoying hospital-free living.Thanks again for all of the prayers.–Mike & Carrie Austin

Calling All Care Elders!Our Care Elders Winter Gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.Our topic for the evening will be “Tending the Sheep:Strategies for Providing Spiritual Care”.We hope that this evening will be a time of learning and encouragement for you.There will also be time to share with your fellow Care Elders and to enjoy some treats.We hope to see you there!

A one day retreat for fathers is scheduled for February 29, 9am-4pm in Maurice, Iowa.The title is “Dad Tired”.It promises to be a great day.See the link for more information and how to register-

Are you looking for support, understanding, and tools to deal with your grief from the loss of a family member or friend?We have good news!GriefShare is coming!We will be offering this class at our church again this year, beginning on March 2 at 6:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.GriefShare features Biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one.The DVD videos include nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed.Please contact Sue or Val at the church office (712-472-3729) to register for this class.We hope to see you there!

REGISTER FOR A HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE OF A LIFE TIME! Tri-State Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is accepting applications for the upcoming weekend at Carmel Reformed in Rock Valley, Iowa. TEC is an interdenominational three day Christian retreat designed to help high schoolers learn more about their faith and their community. The next TEC is March 6-8, 2020.
