Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to be effective), Caden Wright (pray for healing and for Caden to regain his strength following his hospital stay), Missy (Michelle) Perkins (currently a resident at the Rock Rapids Health Center), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s Disease), Stacy Dieren (recovering from colon surgery), Jeremy Hespen, Merlin and Jackie Groen’s nephew (recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma), Gayle Wagenaar, Conrad and Audrey De Noble’s brother-in-law (recently diagnosed with acute leukemia), Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (diagnosed with myocarditis and is recovering at home), Zucker Freerks, Sara and Justin Groen’s nephew (recovering from aspiration pneumonia), Greyson Austin, Marlene Mellema’s grandson/Meredith & Joe Vander Zee’s nephew (admitted to Mayo Hospital on February 11 due to eating problems and continued weight loss), Danny Bolerjack, Danielle Bouwman’s father (recovering from a stroke), and Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD).

*Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Gail Hartter (Eric Hartter’s mother), Arlene Sterler (Robbie Korthals’ mother), Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt), and Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel’s son).

Prayer Update: Mykenah Horstman was seen recently for a follow-up appointment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Tests revealed that Mykenah’s spinal cord is again tethered, but it is not as tight, and Mykenah does not have symptoms. Mykenah will be fitted for a brace that she will wear at night in hopes that spinal fusion surgery can be delayed until she is older and bigger.

Thank You! I would like to thank everyone for the cards and memorial gifts that were given in memory of Christine (Gilbert’s mother). It was much appreciated and your generosity will not be forgotten. ~Gilbert & Leona and families

Attention: We are being asked to not shake hands to prevent the spread of infections and the flu. We can still greet one another but in ways other than hand contact. ~ Thank you

Valentine supper and activity night have been postponed from February 13th to this coming Wednesday, February 20th. On the menu: Lasagna, Garlic Toast, and Salad. Serving begins at 5:45 and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. Parents, please plan to stay with your child after the meal as we will be learning that God is Love through a fun night of activities and making Valentine treats for a neighbor or loved one.

Grace Circle Members! Grace Circle will meet on Tuesday, February 19 at 6:30 pm at the home of Marlene Mellema. Please bring your new study book, “True Spirituality”. It should be an exciting year of study. See you all there.

To All Care Elders: Our Care Elders Winter Gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our program for the evening will be “Tools for the Care Elder’s Toolbox”. Most of us have used a tool to help us accomplish a project or a task. Having a variety of tools gives us options as we work on a project. We hope that the “spiritual tools” we will discuss at our meeting will be helpful to you as a Care Elder. As always, you will have some time to share with your fellow Care Elders and to enjoy some tasty treats. We hope to see you on February 26!

Are you looking for support, understanding, and tools to deal with your grief from the loss of a family member or friend? GriefShare is coming! We will be offering this class here at FRC beginning on March 4, 2019. We will meet in the church Fellowship Hall from 6:45-8:45 p.m. Registration is $20 (scholarships are available). GriefShare features Biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar includes nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people followed by a group discussion about what was viewed. The topic for the first week will be “Is This Normal?” Please contact Val or Sue at the church office (472-3729) for more information and/or to register for this class.
