ANNOUNCEMENTS

Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Jeff Van Veldhuizen (recovering from hip replacement surgery), Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to be effective), Asher Menning (pray that the blood clot in Asher’s right atrium will dissolve), Caden Wright (pray for healing and for Caden’s strength to be renewed following his hospital stay), Mykenah Horstman (pray that Mykenah’s spinal cord will not re-tether), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s Disease), Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (diagnosed with myocarditis; is recovering at home), Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD), and Gayle Wagenaar, Conrad and Audrey De Noble’s brother-in-law (recently diagnosed with acute leukemia).

Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Gail Hartter (Eric Hartter’s mother), Arlene Sterler (Robbie Korthals’ mother), Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt), and Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel’s son).

Prayer Update:Zucker Freerks, Justin and Sara Groen’s nephew, was hospitalized last week with aspiration pneumonia. Zucker has returned home, and he is recovering well. Zucker’s family has asked that we pray for a healthy winter for Zucker.

Prayer Update: Greyson Austin will have his 6 hour surgery at Mayo Hospital on Thursday, December 6th. They will attach his small intestine for his colon. Thank you for your many prayers. ~ Marlene Mellema & families

Thank You: We would like to thank everyone who helped with laying concrete and moving a garage to put house. It has added a much needed workspace for Scott to do some projects and keep him busy this winter. Special thanks go to Gary & Karen Van Wyhe, Eric Harrter, Steve Harman, Todd VandeKop, Health Huisman, Joel Vis, Dustin Bosch, and Dave Altman. ~ Scott and Deb Hunt

Thank you to all volunteers and donations given to the Annual Thanksgiving Meal held on Thanksgiving Day. It was once again a great day of fellowship and everyone enjoyed a great traditional Thanksgiving meal. Over 150 meals were served either here at the church, or delivered to shut-ins living in town. A special thank you to Nettie Roskam and Leona Vanden Top for once again organizing the event. We appreciate your many years of service and dedication to this special event. New Elders & Deacons: Our newly elected Consistory members for 2019 include Elders Bob Tilstra and Matt Kock; Deacons Steve Harman, Mike Puscher, and Dale Jansma.

Consistory meets this Thursday night, December 6. Elders meet at 7 pm and the Deacons at 7 pm with a joint meeting at 8 pm.

Mid-Week Meal Rescheduled! Due to the cancelation of the Mid-week meal last week (Wednesday, November 28) we will be having it this Wednesday, December 5, 2018 starting at 5:45 pm. Thank you.

Calendars!!! The New Year will soon be here, so now is the time to order your birthday/anniversary calendars. Price is $5.00. Please contact Sharon Tilstra or Mary Hoogers by December 16th. Thanks in advance from the Bell Choir.

RESERVE: All-Church Christmas Meal, Wednesday, December 12 at 5:45 pm. Please plan to join us for food, games, fun, and fellowship for all ages. You must sign-up at the Information Center by Sunday, December 9 this is provided by the Women’s Ministry. A free-will offering will be taken for the meal. Hope to see you all there!

Hearing Devices Available: Are you having difficulty hearing the service? Our church has a hearing assistance system. If you are having difficulty hearing during the worship service and would like to try a receiver, please check at the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary or with Dave Hulstein.

Just a Reminder: When scheduling any meetings or any events in the church please notify the church office what rooms will need to be used, the time, and date. Thank you for your help in this matter. ALSO… If you have any used greeting cards we do still collect them in the side table next to the mailboxes. The drawer is marked. Thank you in advance.

CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! Crossroads Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is accepting applications for the upcoming weekend at the Reformed Church of Steen in Steen, Minnesota. TEC is an interdenominational three day Christian retreat/lock-in designed to help high schoolers learn more about their faith and their community. The next TEC is Friday February 15 through Sunday February 17, 2019. If you would like to learn more about TEC or register, please visit www.CrossroadsTEC.com/apply or email CrossroadsTEC@gmail.com. The cost is $50 and includes a t-shirt, meals & other special gifts. Scholarships are available upon request. Crossroads TEC is also looking for adults with a passion for ministering to teens to help make the weekend a success.
