Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Jeff Van Veldhuizen (recovering from hip replacement surgery on November 19), Asher Menning (pray that the blood clot in Asher’s right atrium will dissolve), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s Disease), Tanner Lincecum (pray that Tanner’s shunt will continue to be effective), Mykenah Horstman (pray that Mykenah’s spinal cord will not re-tether), Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (diagnosed with myocarditis; is recovering at home), and Tony Schoneveld, Jessica Harman’s grandfather (has stage 4 COPD).

Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel’s son), Gail Hartter (Eric Hartter’s mother), Arlene Sterler (Robbie Korthals’ mother), and Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt).

Prayer Update: Caden Wright is continuing to regain his strength and heal following his hospitalization.

UPDATE on Greyson Austin: Please continue to pray for Greyson’s upcoming surgery at Mayo on Dec. 6th. After a fainting episode, his hemoglobin and iron levels were found to be deficient. With iron meds and fluid increase, we pray this will take care of the deficiency. He is gaining weight and still loves to eat! We feel your many prayers, and this helps give us inner peace for the upcoming surgery. May God bless you for your prayers. ~ Marlene Mellema and families.

Thank You: We once again were reminded of what a wonderful church family we belong to. We definitely felt the power of prayer during the ambulance ride and the first hours in the hospital. Thanks to our church staff and care elders, Dwayne and Sharon, as well as our pew partner, Ruth Hocking, for their diligence in checking up on us. Also thank you for the cards and food. Most of all, thank you for continuing this journey with Caden. We appreciate you all more than you know. ~ The Wrights

Nominations for Elders and Deacons who will be selected at a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 25 include: Elders (selecting 2): Bob Tilstra, Randy Grooters, Matt Kock, and Jerry Pytleski; Deacons:(selecting 3) Matt Kock, Jeff Jager, Steve Harman, Dale Jansma, Nick Beyenhof, Bryce Hunt and Mike Pulscher. If anyone has any scriptural reason any of these candidates should not be on Consistory please inform Pastor Dan or one of our current elders. Let us all be in prayer for the process of selection.

Due to personal reasons, Shari Kastein has removed her name from nomination for Elder. Matt Kock replaces her on the ballot. Matt is also nominated for deacon and if not selected for elder will also continue on the ballot for deacon.

Budget Meeting is set for November 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome. Budgets were placed in your mailboxes.

A New Shipment Arrived. Come to the Church Library to check out the new movies and books. Just in: Movies - Grace Card, The Star, and I Can Only Imagine. Books – The Christmas Blessing, Defiant Joy, At Any Cost, Faith Over Fear, The Prodigal Prophet, A Love Like Ours, and so many more fiction, inspirational and personal stories. We are also adding to the school age kids’ book section. Ages 9-12. Books – Cooper Kids Adventure Series and Christy of Cutter Gap Series. Come and see all that’s new in the library.

Operation Christmas Child: Another successful Operation Christmas Child campaign has come to an end for our congregation, but the journey of our shoeboxes is just beginning. On Monday, 154 boxes from FRC and 634 boxes total that we collected from the surrounding area were delivered to Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls collected a total of 25,822 boxes. By now, they have probably arrived at the Denver processing center, where they will be prepared for shipment to kids all over the world. Continue to pray for the children who will receive these boxes, that their hearts will be ready to receive the Good News and that they will learn through the discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, how to share the gospel with their families and communities. Thank you again for your support throughout the year. If you see items on sale throughout the year and feel led to purchase them, please feel free to do so. OCC is a year-round event
