Announcements for 11-14-21

The following have been nominated for the positions of Elder and Deacon for 2022: Elder nominees: Dave Hulstein, Shari Kastein, Dan Kruse and Rodney Vanden Top. Deacon nominees: Lance Iwen, Lonn Kellenberger, Mike Klarenbeek, Dan Moser, Jerry Mulder, Dan Van Beek, Rob Van Hofwegen, and Shawn Van Wyhe. If anyone has evidence of any Biblical grounds any of these persons should not be on Consistory please inform one of the Elders.

MAILBOX ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We have reorganized mailboxes.  We strive to do this 2x a year.  Please make sure you have your correct mailbox when taking mail.    Also, if you need a mailbox please let the Church office know.  frchurch@premieronline.net

*Parents: We use the Flocknote system regularly to communicate with you about our programs at church. We have created parent groups for Children & Worship, Sunday School, and Club 512 based on the registration sheets filled out in August. If you are not receiving communication, please take a moment to fill out a registration sheet so we can increase our communication and also have contact information should we need to reach you during our activities/events. Thanks!

 Happy Thanksgiving: There will be a FREE community Thanksgiving dinner served for anyone who would like a traditional meal, but has nowhere to go or no one to share it with. Please join us at the First Reformed Church on: Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021 at noon. Call for a reservation by Nov. 21st. You can call the Rock Rapids Chamber of Commerce at 472-3456 or First Reformed Church office at 472-3729 or sign up in the gathering space. If you need a ride, please provide your address and phone number, so someone can pick you up. Home delivery is also available. *We are also in need of volunteers that day to drive, deliver and serve as well as set up and clean up. Pies and salads as well as coolers to transport meals are also needed. ~ Thank you

*Attention all coffee/ hot chocolate drinkers: Due to a shortage in supplies we are very short on the 12oz coffee cups with lids. We are asking if you could help us out by bringing your own reusable cups to church for coffee and hot chocolate until we replenish our supply and we would be happy to fill them here. Thanks for understanding! 

*Christina Vonk is celebrating her 90th birthday on November 27.  The family is requesting a card shower for her in celebration of this milestone.  Cards can be sent to 1510 S. Carroll St. #121, Rock Rapids, IA  51246

*Grace Circle will meet Tuesday, November 16 @ Sarah Swartz @ 6:30. Our study books "Calm My Anxious Heart" will be available to purchase. We are excited for a great year together! 

~We are looking for volunteers to make prayer shawls.  We would like to donate several shawls to the “Game Plan for Hope” Ministry. Please contact Barb Folkens (712-470-5948) for more information and yarn.  Thank you in advance for blessing families.

REGISTER FOR A HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE OF A LIFE TIME! Tri-State Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is accepting applications for the upcoming weekend at the American Reformed Church in Luverne, Minnesota. TEC is an interdenominational three day, Christian retreat designed to help high schoolers learn more about their faith and their community. The next TEC is November 19-21, 2021. If you would like to learn more about TEC or register, please visit www.TriStateTEC.org or email TriStateTEC@gmail.com. The cost is $50 and includes a t-shirt & other special gifts. Scholarships are available upon request.


Birthday Calendars:  The Bell Choir will be selling Birthday/Anniversary Calendars for 2022. They are $5.00 each with all proceeds going to The General Fund.  To order your copy contact Sharon Tilstra at 472-2390, Mary Hoogers at 472-3097, the church office at 472-3729 or leave a note in Sharon and/or Mary’s church mailbox. The deadline to order is Dec 5. Calendars will be ready by January 1. Thank you in advance for your support.

*Children’s Bulletins are now available by the regular bulletins each week. The bulletin goes according to the scripture for the week and there will be one for 3+ and one for 7+.
