*We welcome everyone to this morning's worship service to recognize the retirement of Pastor Dan and Sue. We are beyond thankful for Pastor Dan leading this congregation for the past 21 years along with 2 other congregations the past 37 years! 

Due to restrictions with Premier Communications, the worship service may not air tonight at 5:30 on the local cable station. However, we are trying our best so that the service will play tonight. If you are not able to watch it on Cable Channel 12 tonight at 5:30, you can go to our website (www.rockrapidsfrc.org) and click on the link to watch the service.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you to everyone who contributed with a written tribute, video tribute, was involved with the worship service or helped the past months planning for this special worship service to acknowledge the legacy of Pastor Dan and Sue. God has blessed us with Pastor Dan and Sue, and God is good and God will continue to bless this congregation in our future.

SYMPATHY:  We extend our sympathy to Tara and Lucas Bouwman and their family on the death of Tara’s mother, Trish Lombard, on January 19, 2021.  Trish’s funeral was held on Saturday, January 23, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in rural Inwood.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! – Garlene Mulder will be celebrating her 96^th birthday on Friday, January 29, 2021.  Cards may be sent to Garlene at her new address: Garlene Mulder, Good Samaritan Center, P.O. Box 608, George, IA 51237.  Garlene’s new phone number is 712-475-6012.

             Morning worship will continue but with the following requests:

 That you sit in every other pew to create social distancing. Signs will be up to assist with this, we   strongly recommend and encourage wearing masks when entering and exiting the service. We will make masks available, If you feel you are at risk, are not comfortable being in a crowd, or do not feel well we encourage you to stay home and watch on Livestream

         Prayer Updates:  Garlene Mulder has moved from the Rock Rapids Health Center to the Good Samaritan Center in George, IA.  

        *Pam Foster, Bob Dreke’s sister (coping with Huntington’s disease)

         *Thomas Bouwman, Tom & Sheryl Bouwman’s son (continues to make progress in physical therapy).                           

        *Greyson Austin (family asks for prayers while waiting for a second surgery in the future)

        * Caden Wright (please pray for Caden to remain healthy as he attends school) 

        * Please pray for Carl Vande Weerd, Cheryl Van Beek’s brother.  Carl will begin radiation treatments on January 28 to treat sarcoma.

        * Please pray for Elton Hilbrands, Lucille Smit’s son & Judy Gacke’s brother.  Elton is receiving chemotherapy for esophageal cancer.

        •Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer:

          Gail Hartter, Eric  Hartter’s mother (finished with chemotherapy; now receiving a form of maintenance chemotherapy).

          Melissa Moser, Kathy Moser’s daughter-in-law (receiving radiation treatments for her cancer)

        Karen De Noble, Dave De Noble’s mother (has finished chemotherapy; will complete tests at alater date to check for a reoccurrence),

        Marilyn Kuyper, Ethanie Pulscher’s aunt (recent tests showed that Marilyn’s cancer has grown a small amount; treatment now includes a new type of drug).

       Arlene Sterler, Robbie Korthals’ mom (continues to fight cancer and is currently receiving immunotherapy),
