* Lucille Smit is celebrating her 90th birthday on November 9th. The family would like to invite you to an Open House in celebration of this milestone at the Central Lyon Activity Center at 400 S. 7th Ave. Rock Rapids, IA on Saturday, November 6th from 2-4:00. No gifts please! If unable to attend, a card can be mailed to her home at 1510 S. Carroll St. # 128, Rock Rapids, IA 51246

*Our annual Operation Christmas Child packing party is drawing near!  We are still in need of:

          *Shoebox Items – the items needed are highlighted in yellow on the supply list.

                *Volunteers – please sign up on the OCC list in the gathering space.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated and has signed up to serve. We look forward to another great night of fellowship and mission.

*Parents: We use the Flocknote system regularly to communicate with you about our programs at church. We have created parent groups for Children & Worship, Sunday School, and Club 512 based on the registration sheets filled out in August. 

If you are not receiving communication, please take a moment to fill out a registration sheet so we can increase our communication and also have contact information should we need to reach you during our activities/events. Thanks!

Art of Parenting Class is going to move to room 377 this Sunday!

*MARK YOUR CALENDAR - First Reformed Church is hosting the 5th Sunday service in our today, October 31st at 7PM.  Please join us for a message from our own Shari Kastein, Executive Director for Family Crisis Centers and the recipient of many awards and honors for her work.  You will also hear and be inspired by how Fellowship of Christian Athletes is working in our local school.  Please join us and invite your family and friends to attend this special service with you.  Everyone is welcome.  

*Attention all coffee/ hot chocolate drinkers: Due to a shortage in supplies we are very short on the 12oz coffee cups with lids. We are asking if you could help us out by bringing your own reusable cups to church for coffee and hot chocolate until we replenish our supply and we would be happy to fill them here. Thanks for understanding! 

 Attention all women of First Reformed Church:  In your mailbox or on our website under the ministries section under the Womens Ministry is a list of committee choices and a brief description that we need volunteers to help with. Please take time to prayerfully consider filling out this form.  Let’s put our gifts and talents in motion.  Please share your time and enjoy the fellowship of serving on a committee.   Please review and select your top three committees. Please return to Nicole Gerleman by November 7, 2021.

*Projector update: We have ordered three new projectors!  Due to delays and shortages, we were told it may take up to 4 to 6 months to get the projectors.  Your patience is appreciated as we all cope with one less projector.  Thank you! 

Testimonies needed: Is God nudging you to share your testimony?  We would love to hear your story!  We are looking for people to share their testimony at a night of worship in January.  Please contact Valerie Lenderink for more information: frcmusic@premieronline.net or call or text 314-637-8383.

*We are looking for volunteers to make prayer shawls.  We would like to donate several shawls to the “Game Plan for Hope” Ministry. Please contact Barb Folkens (712-470-5948) for more information and yarn.  Thank you in advance for blessing families.

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES:

  1. If you have a college student that you want to receive a care package from FRC, please sign up in the gather space or email Cheryl Van Beek. (frccheryl@premieronline.net) Deadline to sign up is Nov 14.
  2. If you would like to help prepare care packages, donates supplies or help cover shipping costs, please email or call Cheryl Van Beek. (frccheryl@premieronline.net or 712-470-0278)

We are looking for things to do:  If you are in need of some assistance raking leaves, watering flowers, walking a dog, stuffing envelopes, vacuuming etc…. Please consider the My Day group with Hope Haven. They are looking for things to keep them busy and would love to volunteer their time. **Children’s Bulletins are now available by the regular bulletins each week. The bulletin goes according to the scripture for the week and there will be one for 3+ and one for 7+. 

~Sunday’s bulletin will now be available via your phone. Just scan the QR code on the bulletin stands or the welcome center.

           *Offering will be collected in the back of the church until further notice*
