Announcements for 11-13-22
The following have been nominated for the positions of Elder and Deacon for 2022:
Elder nominees: Chris Wright, Rodney VandenTop, Ken Leuthold and Sharon Postma
Deacon nominees: Deacon: Justin Groen, Evan Metzger, Rob Van Hofwegen, Joel Vis, Jerry Mulder, Daniel Moser, Tom Vander Lee, Mark Boender, and Shawn VanWyhe
*If anyone has evidence of any Biblical grounds that any of these persons should not be on Consistory please inform one of the Elders.
Mark your calendar for November 27, 2022. We will have our Annual Congregational Meeting that morning. At the annual meeting, the slate of nominees is placed into a Bible. Following a time of prayer for the new members to be selected, each retiring Elder or Deacon will draw a name from the Bible to be read to the congregation.
**Christmas Eve Special Music: We would love to have your gift of music in the Christmas Eve program! Please sign up at the Welcome Center or contact Valerie Lenderink, frcmusic@premieronline.net, 314-637-8383
**With winter quickly approaching we have a few reminders as far as cancelling worship. We will make announcements via Flocknote, Prayer Chain, Social-Media and the following radio stations KIWA Sheldon and K101/KQAD. The same rules apply to our Wednesday night activities. (If Central Lyon or West Lyon schools release early or are cancelled we will NOT have activities that day, so please plan accordingly) Thanks for your understanding. First Reformed Church

What a wonderful church family we have! Thank you so much for remembering our family with calls, texts, cards, food & memorials. We were blessed to have our mother and grandmother for 100 years! She is now rejoicing in Heaven! Blessings and love, Evan & Linda De Boer family (in memory of Frances Vermeer).
For all the cards, gifts, flowers, meals, visits, hugs and kindness shown to us when our husband, father and grandfather, John Van Aartsen, was in Lyon Specialty Care and upon his passing away we say “Thank You!” A special thank you to Pastor Steve, Pastor Amy and Chris and Kristi Wright. ~From Ruth Van Aartsen, Cindy and Randy Bosch, Dustin, Taylor, Ellie and Emmett Bosch and the Van Aartsen family.
The Siebring Project to send a container of warm clothes, blankets, food, etc. to the Ukraine still needs more items to fill the container and really needs people to give money toward shipping this container to the Ukraine. Items for the container can be dropped off at Justice For All in Rock Valley. Money toward shipping the container: checks should be made to “Aid for Ukraine” and sent to Security Savings Bank, P.O. Box 128, George, Iowa 51237. Thank you so much to those of you who have already given. Please continue to pray for this project and the Ukraine. Any questions call Carol Groen at 605-940-7237.
*Atlas contacted me to see if any of the churches have volunteers to assist with the unloading of the food truck when it arrives at Forster Community Center on Wednesday, November 16th at 9:30am? They would like to communicate this need and announce to the congregations and in your bulletins. Please contact Atlas if able to assist. #712-472-0117
