Prayers:Your prayer support is appreciated for the following individuals and their special circumstances: Ruth Hocking (recovering at home from pneumonia), Loren Dengler (recovering at home following heart surgery), Mary Vermeer (has returned home and is recovering from surgery), Donna Hulshof (has finished her infusion treatments), Karyn Boer (recovering at home from hip replacement surgery), Debbie Crane (recovering from knee surgery), Eldora Krull (recovering well from her second stent procedure), Pam Foster, Bob Dreke's sister (coping with Huntington's Disease), Dawn Vanden Top (health concerns with her liver), Steve Crane (ongoing cancer treatments), and Tracy Draayer, Jessica Harman's mother, as she cares for Jessica's grandparents (Alice Schoneveld has stage 4 cancer; Tony Schoneveld has stage 4 COPD) at their home in California.

Your prayers are also requested for the following individuals who are coping with cancer: Frances Weerheim, Gert Van Roekel (Laurine Gerritsen's mother), Steve & Dave Kwikkel (Arnie and Donna Kwikkel's sons), Marilyn Kuyper (Ethanie Pulscher's aunt), and Brittany Bouwman (Tom & Sheryl Bouwman's daughter-in-law).

Sympathy: We extend our sympathy to Barb Hoogendoorn and her family on the death of her husband Ted on Tuesday, May 15. Ted's funeral was held yesterday, May 19, here at First Reformed Church.

Thank You: The generosity of this church is truly amazing. We appreciate all the prayers, visits, calls, cards, and delicious food making my recovery almost pleasant. Thank you so much and God bless you all.

Care Center Services: We welcome any who want to join us for the Care Center Services this afternoon to help bring residents to worship and assist them with their hymn books. We begin at the Health Center at 3:15 pm followed by Lyon Manor at 4 pm.

GriefShare: Our next GriefShare session will be on Monday, May 21, 6:45-8:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our topic this week will be "Lessons of Grief – Part Two”. We will learn about who you are now that your loved one is gone, and why no one grieves perfectly. We will also address what grief can teach us about relationships. Please feel free to join us!

SIGN UP FOR SPECIAL MUSIC: A sign-up sheet is available at the information desk for those who would like to share their musical gifts in Sunday morning worship during the summer months. Solos, duets, trios, and more are welcome to share spiritual songs and hymns as our choirs take a break this summer.

Vacation Bible School! VBS Planning is underway! Our theme this year is “Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus” and will be held here at First Reformed Church on June 4-8 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We are looking for volunteers. From station leaders to kitchen help, nursery to crew leaders…there is a place for you! Please sign up at the table in the gathering space where you will also find a kitchen supply list. Registration is now open. Please visit www.vbspro.events/p/2018shipwreckedvbs. All children ages 4 (as of June 4) through completing 6th grade are welcome to attend.

Colors for 2018: Monday – Orange, Tuesday – Yellow, Wednesday – Purple, Thursday – Green, Friday – Blue

WORSHIP AT INSPIRATION HILLS: Mark your calendars for July 22 to hold our morning worship service at Inspiration Hills. Start time will be at 10:30 am followed by events to be announced as well as lunch. More information to follow.

Inspiration Hills Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Day Summer Kick-off & Auction will be held on Monday, May 28th. The auction items will be available for viewing at 3 pm with the Live Auction beginning at 3:30 pm. A light supper will be available from 4:30 – 6:00 pm (freewill donation). Greetings from camp staff will be at 6:00 pm. There will be musical entertainment by the Klassen Family from Worthington, MN at 6:30 pm.

The Center of Hope in Sioux Falls is looking to hire a Faith Community Nurse. This person would support our current Faith Community Nurse Coordinator, and the Volunteer Coordinator at Center of Hope. Primary duties will be to address medical needs of guests of Center of Hope, work with volunteer nurses, create or expand our current training programs, and charting nursing activities. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week. For more information see our website: www.centerofhopesf.org.
